‘It’s Easy to See the Attraction’ is the latest press campaign for the new Mirage from Mitsubishi. We shot this a few weeks back in a city centre location, as evening fell & the lights came on to give that fun ‘buzzing round the city’ feel to the car. The brief was to find a smart looking urban environment for a little city runabout & this location fitted the brief pretty well. We recced the location prior to the shoot during the day & again in the evening to check lighting positions etc.

With this type of enclosed location and with the general public around it isn’t possible to use tracking techniques. So, bearing in mind the high res image size required for print and outdoor use as well as skyscraper and banner web executions, with movement and a super sharp car, it was time to bring out the big kit. Enter the carbon fibre ‘stick’ – 30 feet or thereabouts, with the Phase One camera system and 100 megapixel back.

The joy of location photography – set up & waiting for the night to fall…
Strike a pose
The early part of the day was spent making the final location position selection, and then rigging & cleaning the car ready to shoot as the building & street lights
came on. We were ready to go well before dusk started to fall & had all been outside in the cold for hours, so Dave & Dean nipped off for a short break to warm up…:)
