To Lightpaint, or not to Lightpaint…

To Lightpaint, or not to Lightpaint…

That is the question!

Lightpainting has been around in car photography in one shape or form for many years.
Back in the day, we lit with a 6ft Kino Flo – great effect, but another large piece of kit for the production team to load in & out of grip vans, airport check-ins etc…
Now we are using hand-held LEDs – lightweight and portable, fits in a small bag.
Here is a short film demonstrating the technique on a pal’s Speedster…enjoy

And the three ‘stages’ of lightpainting…any preferences out there?

Compared to the Kino Flo effect below – one of the images shot for the Jaguar XF launch in & around Monaco – this one was shot outside the Monte Carlo Casino – one of the more expensive locations! Here is a link to a previous blog for more shots of the XF and a feature in Photography Masterclass Magazine
