Stitching Up the Celebrities

Stitching Up the Celebrities

I don’t often think about what I wear to work, as long as it’s comfortable and capable of being in trend, that’s enough for me. Being an automotive photographer, I can’t really afford to fall in love with my clothes as it’s a hands on job that can get a bit dirty.
As you’ve seen over the years, it can involve mud, crashing ocean waves, snow, race track dust, engine oil, grass stains and car wax. That’s why everything I wear must be easily replicable, I save the one of a kind for after work!

Dapper Doesn’t Do Him Justice

When I was asked to shoot behind the scenes for BMW at Saville Row, for the first time in a while I did consider my clothes. Unfortunately, I didn’t consider them until I already had a camera in hand photographing one of the most dapper men in the world.
Richard James is renowned for his suits, for over a decade his suits have been worn by celebrities across the globe. Every British male celebrity either owns or covets a Richard James suit as they have a knack for not only making anyone look as cool as James Bond but also reflect the personality of the wearer with the individual style.
Of course, made to measure, Richard has tailored suits in a variety of fabrics and bespoke designs for many well-known figures, such is the quality of his work that his suits are capable of changing the public perception of a celebrity.

From Harry Potter to Elton John, This is Where the Magic Happens

Using the finest emerald green velvet, Richard brought Harry Potter out of adolescence with a suit that left no doubt he’d cut the apron strings that tied him to Harry Potter land. He’s made a quirky Nick Grimshaw look incredibly smart while encompassing Nick’s cheeky character into the design ensuring he retains his charm. He’s made girls swoon as he’s dressed Dermot O’Leary to impress and he’s made housewives love him as he’s wrapped up Tom Jones in a striking, low cut, vivid blue suit.
The most notorious client would have to be Elton John, proving that Richard can cater to any taste, any personality while retaining his own trademark identity. Quite frankly, as a photographer who tweaks to make images, people, cars and scenes look better, I am quite in awe of how Richard can do this for men with a needle and a design.
So I shot away in trainers and jeans, thinking I may be under dressed as this impeccably turned out man showed just how to wear his suits with elegance and panache.
