One of the world’s greatest modern day explorers, Sir Ranulph Fiennes was inspirational and full of great stories of his exploits over the years. We were chatting over his kitchen table, when he showed me an old roll film canister…interesting piece of memorabilia, made even more interesting when he removed the lid & tipped out what looked like blackened peas… they were in fact his frost-bitten ‘mummified’ fingertips which had caused him so much pain, that when he returned to the UK from an expedition he cut them off with a micro-blade….
