Epic landscapes to explore, wildlife, safari lodges, great Colonial style architecture, amazing weather…so when I was asked last Autumn to shoot Discovery in Namibia with Land Rover & the Spark 44 guys it was a no-brainer. The images & films are released this week.
So we all arrived in the capital Windhoek back in September to meet with the German team, local crew & guides.

The dusty plains from the middle of nowhere…
Epic horizons…
Sand bashing in the Namib desert
Epic landscapes…
Aerial drone still
The shoot took us through dunes & along dusty tracks, to the Skeleton Coast. The game reserves with rare black rhino, lions, giraffe – all pretty incredible to see.
Staying in the lodges was quite a fun experience too, with some of the local wildlife making their way inside on one occasion – all very good so long as you don’t have an issue with large hairy spiders (mentioning no names 😉 – at least it wasn’t anything bigger with teeth and a penchant for fresh meat!!

Very Discovery…
So, we spent a couple of weeks capturing all aspects of the Namibia Experience, exploring the landscapes in a fleet of Discoverys – Nick & Justin on moving footage, & myself on stills and aerial drone filming, CD Toby with models Adrienne & Michael.
Spectacular exit at the waterhole
Endless vistas – aerial drone shot
Flying the drone in Namibia gave me a fantastic perspective on the epic landscapes – the Namibian CAA were really helpful on speedy processing of permits etc., so big thanks to them for making that possible.
Here are a few clips, thanks to Nick for editing these – enjoy…
And as always – a massive thanks to the team on the trip Toby, Nick, Justin, Adrienne & Michael for making work fun, the local team and the production team back at base….looking forward to working with you all again 🙂
