‘Everyone Needs A Hero’ is the Autumn /Winter print and digital campaign which we have had the pleasure to work on with the teams from RAC, their advertising agency, service production & location finding crew.
This project started at the beginning of the year, with meetings at RAC HQ when we explored the best route through to update their advertising imagery with a seasonal twist. The initial meetings are a vital part of the image production process, to get a steer on everyone’s thoughts and come up with the best solution to achieve the necessary goals from the imagery to be produced. Our brief was to create a series of portraits on location to portray the heroic aspect of roadside rescue.
After considering various locations to answer the brief it was decided to shoot up in Scotland, home of agency Whitespace, so we headed up to Glasgow with the RAC team to meet the Whitespacers and LS Productions who had recced some great locations for us, both urban and remote. We had cast both models and real RAC patrolmen to give us the authentic feel that we wanted to achieve in the campaign.
Our brief was to shoot Autumn and Winter themed shots and fortunately, despite shooting at the end of the summer, the weather suddenly changed and Scotland came up trumps with some appropriate weather for us! It did present some challenges – rather too much rain being one, but gave some great visual aspects to work with – mist, sleet etc…to create the feeling of the RAC guys rescuing stranded motorists from hazardous situations.
Here are a few of the final images…
