I’ve been working with Mitsubishi very recently, this time shooting the Mirage. You’ll see from the pics that it’s a chirpy looking car that comes in a rainbow of colours. The brief was to shoot it in action in the city to showcase how nippy it can be. The ideal car from getting from A to B, we found some pretty original spots for the shoot.
First up, the Voice or the studio of. We took our Mitsu’s to the building to be judged by art director Rich . I’m not sure if it was the car or me but something brought out the homie in him as you can see from this no nonsense pose. We weren’t going to mess with the guy.
Celebrating getting close to the close of a challenging shoot , we needed a spot of R and R – playing a game of ‘killer’ while thawing out after a long day on location before retiring for the night.
Next up we chose a spooky place, an abandoned airfield that looks as though it was deserted in seconds. It was daylight so our knees didn’t knock that much but it did provide a stark contrast to the funky, bright Mitsu Mirage.
Naturally quite grey and dull, the spectrum of colours stood out on the runway that is when rain didn’t stop play! We had the perfect vehicle for moving everyone about, the Mitsubishi pickup. If you ever wondered how many advertising people can fit in the back of one of these you’ll see it’s 6 (although I’m convinced there was still room for a small photographer!)
All lined up like skittles on a Scaletrix track we finally got the shots we wanted before night began to fall. Pretty glad we got out of there before sunset as I had visions of scenes of From Dusk til Dawn!
Check back here is a few weeks to see the final images!
